The Nashville-based music publishing company's roster has piled up four Grammys and 28 chart toppers.
Downtown Music Publishing has signed an administration deal with B.g.Yellow Dog Music, a Nashville-based music publishing and artist development company whose roster includes Grammy winners Meghan Trainor and Josh Kear and CMA-winner Maren Morris who is also up for a 2016 Best New Artist Grammy.
B.g.Yellow Dog's writers have accrued four Grammys, 28 chart toppers and four ASCAP/BMI Country Songs of the Year awards. Its hits songs include “All About That Bass”, “Lips Are Movin” and “No” co-written by Trainor; "My Church" and "80s Mercedes" co-written by Morris; and "Need You Now" (performed by Lady Antebellum) and “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away” (performed by Carrie Underwood) co-written by Kear.
Artists such as Fifth Harmony, Jason Derulo, Charlie Puth, DJ Khaled, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Demi Levato and Rascal Flatts have performed songs by B.g.Yellow Dog writers.The company's film, television and brand division had over 400 placements last year including uses by How to Get Away with Murder, Shades of Blue, Mad Max: Fury Road, Moana and The Edge of Seventeen.
